C H E L S E A, 24, is a vocalist, composer and music producer who has just completed her honours year of a Bachelor of Music Studies majoring in Contemporary Music at The University of Sydney, Conservatorium of Music.
Her 2016 debut single ‘Vincristine’, made the Australian top 100 iTunes chart by its second day of release. Since then she has released EP's, 'Heartstrings' and 'Noir', as well as singles 'Old World Love', 'Robin' (finalist in the University of Sydney Union Creative Awards, exhibited at the Verge Gallery 2018), 'Saeran' and 'Dare to Dream'. She was a featured composer in SBS Viceland television documentary submission ‘A Composer’s Palette’, directed by Tony Ling (ARFTS) with showcased live performance of her song 'Oxygen', arranged by Oliver Beard.
'Dare to Dream' (produced by 2017 Aria Award Winning Producer of the Year, Adrian Breakspear) was launched at the Layne Beachley Aim For The Stars Foundation gala and was and co-written and performed with pianist Scott Aplin (The Voice Australia’s and ABC’s The Recording Studio’s Music Director).
'Heartstrings' and 'Daughters of the Water' were co-written with Scott Aplin and produced by Adrian Breakspear, and launched at the National Breast Cancer Foundation and Icon Cancer Foundation Cocktail Evening 2018. 'Heartstrings' was used for St Vincent’s Hospital Curran Foundation anniversary dinner in the Sydney Eye Tower, and 'Dare to Dream' for their 'Foundations of the Future' 35 year reflection book launch promotional video.
In 2019, she composed an extended 'Oxygen' and performed it for the opening ceremony of Bundaberg Regional Council's inaugural Milbi Festival.
In 2020, her self produced song ‘Run’ was placed in the trailer for anthology horror series funded by Screen Australia, ‘Deadhouse Dark’, the only Australian production that premiered at the Canneseries Short Form Competition 2021 and is now a Shudder original series.
Influenced by cinematic soundtracks, films and shows, her ethereal production and lyrics tell stories stemmed from memories and ideas, romanticised into heartfelt tracks. Her passion is to develop emotive and cinematic songs and compositions for film and television. Her self produced album 'Embers' is available on Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube.
